Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Parai B.V. processes personal data when you visit parai.nl or contact us by email.

1. Who and what does this policy cover?
This policy applies to the public website parai.nl and to general contact with Parai by email. Parai B.V. is the controller for these processing activities.
Separate Parai products, AI interviews and participation projects may involve different personal data, purposes, clients and privacy roles. The privacy information provided with the relevant product or project applies in those situations. The public website itself does not collect accounts, orders, participation input, recordings or AI chat conversations.
2. What data do we process and why?
The activities below explain which personal data may be processed, for what purpose and on which legal basis.
Website visits and security
- Data
- IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL, browser and device information, and technical routing or error data.
- Purpose
- Deliver and optimise the website, monitor availability and security, prevent misuse and investigate technical errors.
- Legal basis
- Our legitimate interest in providing a secure, reliable and properly functioning public website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Recipients
- Cloudflare for proxying, security and image optimisation; Scaleway for static hosting and infrastructure logs.
- Retention
- Technical logs are retained no longer than needed for availability, security and incident investigation. Scaleway's standard retention period for platform logs is seven days. Relevant data may be retained longer where necessary to resolve a security incident or comply with a legal obligation. Parai does not maintain a separate database of website visitors.
Language preference
- Data
- Your selected language code (NL or EN) in the functional NEXT_LOCALE cookie. When visiting the root page, your browser language may be read locally to choose the appropriate language version.
- Purpose
- Remember your language choice and direct you to the appropriate language version of the website.
- Legal basis
- The cookie is functional and is only set after you switch languages yourself. Cookie consent is not required for this necessary preference feature.
- Recipients
- The cookie remains on your device. Cloudflare and Scaleway will receive the selected language path in the URL when a subsequent page is requested.
- Retention
- The NEXT_LOCALE cookie expires after one year. You can delete it sooner through your browser settings.
Contact by email
- Data
- Your name and email address, technical email headers, the contents of your message, and any data you choose to include in a message or attachment.
- Purpose
- Answer your question, provide the follow-up you request and, where requested, prepare and perform a possible collaboration or agreement.
- Legal basis
- Taking pre-contractual steps or performing an agreement at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), or our legitimate interest in answering other enquiries carefully (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Recipients
- Authorised members of the Parai team and Infomaniak as our email provider. Within Parai, a message is only forwarded to someone who needs it to provide an answer.
- Retention
- General messages are deleted once the enquiry has been resolved and no further follow-up can reasonably be expected. Correspondence that becomes part of an agreement or statutory administration may be retained for as long as the agreement, a statutory retention duty or an applicable limitation period requires.
3. Cookies and analytics
The public website only uses the functional NEXT_LOCALE cookie to remember a language you selected for one year. This cookie does not require a cookie banner or consent. Without it, the website continues to work, but your language choice will not be remembered for a later visit.
Parai does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies or client-side analytics on this public website. Our infrastructure providers do process technical request and network data as described above.
4. Providers and international transfers
We only use providers needed to operate the website and email. They process data in accordance with their services and the arrangements that apply with Parai.
- Cloudflare: processes website traffic for proxying, caching, image optimisation and network security. Cloudflare operates a global network. Data may therefore be processed outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare describes safeguards including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and contractual protections. - Scaleway: hosts the static website in Object Storage in the Amsterdam region (nl-ams) and processes technical infrastructure logs. View the provider's privacy policy
- Infomaniak: provides email for the parai.nl domain and hosts its email services in Switzerland. The European Commission has recognised Switzerland as providing an adequate level of data protection. View the provider's privacy policy
Parai does not sell the personal data of website visitors or people who contact us by email and does not use this data for targeted advertising.
5. Your privacy rights
Depending on the processing, you may ask us to:
- provide access to the personal data we process about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- delete data;
- temporarily restrict processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- transfer data where the right to data portability applies.
These rights are not absolute. We will explain if the GDPR prevents us from fulfilling a request in full or in part. To prevent misuse, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity.

6. Security
Parai takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No storage or transmission method is completely risk-free. Report a suspected security issue to [email protected].
7. Automated decision-making
Through the public website and general email contact, Parai does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.
8. Links to other websites
The website contains links to partner websites and social networks. You only connect to an external party after opening such a link. That party's privacy policy then applies.
9. Changes
We update this policy when the website, our providers or the processing changes. The fixed version date of the published text appears at the top. Where appropriate, we will provide additional notice of significant changes.
